Priority investigations

It is that evaluation or study that contributes directly to the fulfillment of the management objectives of each ANP and of SINANPE as a whole.

ANP

The ANP are continental and / or marine spaces of the national territory that are recognized, established and legally protected by the State as such, due to their importance for the conservation of biological diversity and other associated values of cultural, landscape and scientific interest, as well as for its contribution to the sustainable development of the country.

According to Article 68 of the Political Constitution of Peru: "The State is obliged to promote the conservation of biological diversity and Protected Natural Areas."

Categories of Natural Protected Areas

Otishi

Otishi National Park aims to protect the
Cordillera de Vilcabamba in order to preserve stability
of the soils and the water of the river basins, as well
like its exceptional landscape beauty, the unique
geological formations and biological diversity.

It is located in the upper part of the Cordillera de Vilcabamba,
in the district of Río Tambo in the province of Satipo
in the department of Junín and in the district of
Echarate of the province of La Convencion in the
Cuzco department.
